Important results from the project
Yes, the project has achieved its objectives by successfully completing an application to P4G Partnership Fund and deepening collaboration between key actors in climate resilient agriculture. The project has created the conditions for future innovation initiatives and strengthened the commercial prospects for OlsAro´s climate-resilient wheat.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to contribute to increased food security and climate adaptation in Kenya and Ethiopia through the introduction of salt and heat tolerant wheat. In the long term, this will enable sustainable agriculture on previously uncultivated land, empower women economically and reduce environmental impacts. The project promotes an inclusive and resilient agricultural system in climate vulnerable regions.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out over four months to prepare an application to P4G Partnership Fund. Activities included partner identification, development of a partnership agreement, and drafting of the proposal. The project followed the planned timeline and resulted in a submitted application and a strengthened partnership for future collaboration on climate-resilient agriculture.
