Important results from the project
Developing test environments to establish sustainable distance teaching according to the definitions of equal school and teaching posed by Skolverket. Being transparent with the results and experiences was also part of the ambition. The project has fulfilled the ambitions in three specific areas: -Establishing a platform for sustainable distance teaching -Contribute to increased equality -Experiences that help move toward seamless transition between local and distance teaching. The project has spread its experiences and supplied enhanced knowledge about distance teaching.
Expected long term effects
Showing examples of and testing useful solutions concerning technology, pedagogy and support. Stimulating an increased preparedness within the teacher squad and capability to take action in order to carry out their commitment to handling the over-arching of distance learning. The same applies to the students. With these expectations as background, the project has concluded in a policy document. The policy has sprung from the basis of gained experience within the project and serves as tangible guidelines for an established and sustainable distance teaching.
Approach and implementation
A dynamic digital testing environment provided the possibility of trying ideas when they occurred. Structured workshops and forums for discussion have been arranged in order to benefit from each other’s ideas. This has in turn led to experimenting, new methods and appliance of technology in the activities. Moreover, the project and the testing environment have been evaluated on the basis of the experiences of the students, the distance teachers and the distance supervisors and their views on different aspects of distance teaching at Lapplands Gymnasium linked to the iDAG-project.
