Important results from the project

The project´s aim was achieved through the implementation of a national summer program where students worked on thematic innovation cases linked to the mining and mineral value chain. The project´s goals were met by: - Carrying out two innovation cas es by four students divided into two teams in 2023 - Bringing the cases closer to market through validation activities with potential new markets - Exposing the students as well as the cases to actors in the industry and the innovation system in general

Expected long term effects

The program´s results and expected effects were achieved by: - The students´ entrepreneurial abilities were developed through training and with support of dedicated coaches - The mining industry was presented as an attractive alternative career path after graduation - Research results were made available/exposed to commercial markets - Thematically relevant business ideas were validated and through were prepared for other interventions downstream in the innovation system (e.g. incubators/accelerators).

Approach and implementation

The current program: - Was conducted in parallel with three other thematic summer programs in an accelerator-like environment with collaboration across program boundaries. - Targeted at students at Swedish universities and university colleges with a higher priority for students who studied at least three years at, for the program, relevant educations. - The students were matched in two multidisciplinary teams with each innovation case.
