Important results from the project

The project has largely met the objective set from the start, with gender equality and sustainability as integrated parts of the operation. At the same time, a clearer focus on tech and deeptech has strengthened our role as both an incubator and a science park. The project has contributed to new collaborations for hardware startups, a joint angel investment company in Skåne, and national initiatives in deeptech and defense-related innovation, which strengthens future innovation infrastructure.

Expected long term effects

The Excellence Program at Ideon´s incubator will, with its program structure, its focus on tech and deeptech, result in a strengthened infrastructure for startups. Deeper collaborations with academia, other excellence incubators and actors in the innovation support system create better conditions for research-related companies to develop. In the long term, this means faster commercialization, increased capacity and strengthened Swedish competitiveness internationally.

Approach and implementation

The incubator runs a structured process in phases adapted to the maturity of the companies. Early phases are run in batches with a focus on workshops, peer-to-peer learning and access to experts and in later phases based on the specific needs of the companies. Each company has a head coach and the processes are supported by digital systems for follow-up. A major focus is on capital supply, teams, leadership, sales and sustainability in close cooperation with academia and innovation systems.
