Important results from the project

The report contributes to a better understanding of how Swedish universities are affected by a changing geopolitical context. It forms a knowledge base for discussions and dialogue around the issue. It also contributes to better, concrete and constructive approaches to how universities, researchers, authorities and the government can handle responsible internationalisation.

Expected long term effects

The project contributes to Sweden being able to develop proactive, knowledge-based and effective approaches for how Swedish higher education institutions should handle a changed geopolitical context and how authorities and the government can support higher education institutions in this matter.

Approach and implementation

We conducted a number of interviews with key players and experts. We conducted a few workshops with relevant actors where we gathered their views on the issue and presented our preliminary results to solicit views. The analysis will be published by Vinnova as an independent source of knowledge on a matter of high topicality for universities, researchers, financiers and the government.
