Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to develop new and improved information services with social benefits within transportation and infrastructure maintenance and enhance Swedish competitiveness and competence within integrated vehicle telematics. These services are developed and ready, however only partially commercialised. Based on these methods the project has investigated business models. The project has fulfilled its purpose.

Expected long term effects

The project has contributed to enhance Swedish competitiveness within integrated vehicle telematics, for an example other European countries has shown great commercial interest for parts of the project result.

Approach and implementation

The project has investigated the interest for collected traffic data with the following actors: The traffic office of Stockholm municipality The Swedish traffic authority, traffic data TeliaSonera, network quality PostNord, fleet data, fleet services, remote diagnostics, route planning etc TeliaSonera has taken an interested in taking the role of aggregating data and package it to other actors of interest. There is an interest for collected traffic data, the challenge is to agree on ownership of the data and price points.
