Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was a study visit to Canada to provide doctoral students with in-depth knowledge of sustainable production and digitalization. The objectives were achieved through site visits, workshops, and international collaborations. The travel grant enabled the trip and contributed to new research initiatives, networking, and increased cooperation between Swedish and Canadian actors. The results are documented in a report for further dissemination.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to have long-term effects by strengthening research collaboration between Swedish and Canadian actors. The connections made during the study visit may lead to extended research exchanges, joint projects, and knowledge sharing in sustainable production and digitalization. Additionally, the doctoral students’ new insights can contribute to future research initiatives and industrial innovations in Sweden.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out as planned through a two-week study visit to Canada during the fall of 2024. The participants were doctoral students from Swedish universities specializing in sustainable production and digitalization. The trip included visits to research institutes, universities, and companies, as well as workshops and seminars on circular production systems, AI, and digital twins. The activities were relevant, the schedule was followed, and the collaboration worked as expected.
