Important results from the project
The project involves the development and implementation of a nationally uniform system (IPÖ, Individual Patient Overview) that enables the collection, compilation and illustration of information of importance for effective patient meetings, patient participation, care development and research. The project involves the development of the scalable model developed for structured collection and presentation of clinical data in cancer care. The generic model has been diagnostically adapted for eight cancer diagnoses, which are now being implemented in cancer care in Sweden.
Expected long term effects
Along wtih the implementation of IPÖ in the clinical activities, the more despriptions on the benefits and how it strengthens cancer care: Strengthened patient centering, quality strengthening and streamlining of the preparations before and during the patient meeting, follow-up of care locally, regionally and nationally and strengthened opportunities for development and research. The more patients who receive an IPÖ, the greater the value of the amount of data in IPÖ - and in the national quality registers. potential of this can already be research done within some of the diagnoses.
Approach and implementation
The project has had a broad representation from the project´s various target groups. The eight diagnostic working groups are organized on the basis of the national quality register steering group for each diagnosis. All diagnostic working groups have received support in their work with requirements specifications, testing and coordination of product owners and diagnostic coordinators. Implementation of IPÖ in clinics has been based on two linked strategies - one based on the working groups´ network and strategy, the other based on the RCC organization´s resources and network.
