Finalized development of a new type of oil free aqueous metal rolling lubricants

Important results from the project

Swerea MEFOS object of the project was to perform three rolling campaigns where performance of different new lubrication mixtures could be compared with standard lubrication fluids that are used today. Three rolling camaigns are realised where both aluminium and stainless steel strips were rolled with different lubricants. Samples are taken from both strips and lubricants. These and sampled data is delivered to project partners. Technical assesment and formulation of conclusions are done by other Eurostars partners and will be reported by them.

Expected long term effects

Pilot tests are performed with some delay out of Swerea MEFOS control and test samples and logged data is sent to other project partners. The results have contributed to the other partners realisation of their tasks.

Approach and implementation

Due to partner and funding problems for other partners in the Eurostars project the realisation was significantly delayed. Otherwise all planned activities were concluded with satisfying results.
