Important results from the project

As a whole, the project has delivered the objective set at the beginning of the project. As the project is of a changing nature, which is affected by the context in which it is located, some of the objectives have been downgraded in favor of new initiatives (all this in dialogue with Vinnova). The project contributed to a greater extent with advocacy work and reaching out about the situation for international researchers in Sweden than could have been foreseen at the start of the project.

Expected long term effects

We see that the results created in the project will have long-term effects on international researchers´ opportunities to establish themselves in Sweden and develop their careers here. We see that many more stakeholders have opened their eyes to the challenges international researchers face when they come and are going to establish themselves in Sweden and we see this will put a damper on the waters for better conditions to be created, by more people involved.

Approach and implementation

The project has been driven by two people at Linköping University, who in close dialogue with the contact person at Vinnova have designed action plans and priorities in an agile manner. When the project started, the end goal was not completely known, other than to continuously work to create better conditions for international researchers to establish themselves in Sweden. Therefore, we have continuously taken up the original action plan to evaluate so that we focus on the right things.
