Project duration | July 2014 - February 2015 |
Status | Completed |
Important results from the project
The purpose of the advocacy platform is to mobilize Swedish research groups engaged in nanotechnology and safety, identifying topics of high national priority, develop a national consensus and strategy including effective channels to the EU Commission to influence future calls within the H2020 NMP program. The goal of the established national platform is to streamline and coordinate all relevant activities to influence future calls by improving the conditions for an increased participation of Swedish experts in H2020 NMP but also other EU programs related to nanotechnology.
Expected long term effects
A national network was created with about 90 people from academia, government agencies, businesses etc. engaged in nanotechnology and safety. Participation of Swedish universities, research institutes and SMEs in national and EU nanosafety projects and competences, needs and priorities were identified. Improved knowledge on H2020 NMP and coordinated interaction between key players will significantly increase Swedish participation in the H2020 program. The platform will continue through increased communication / information, an interactive website and regular workshops.
Approach and implementation
Identification and mapping of Swedish nanosafety actors, needs, priorities and research strengths have been done by organizing three workshops, reviewing websites of main national funding organisations, through surveys and interviews with researchers and others experts in the nanotechnology field. A national strategic platform has been established to coordinate and strengthen the influence of Swedish key players on future H2020 Calls, to finally increase their participation in the NMP and other relevant programs.
