Important results from the project

The objective of the project has been achieved. The Swedish research organizations in Emission Free Pulping-programmet (EFP) have participated in various "Research Forum" & "Research Discussions" through funding of this project. We now have a plan for how we run the Swedish part of EFP. RISE has initiated research work & collaborated with VTT (coordinator of the EFP program). The universities have done the preparatory work for recruitments that we hope to be able to carry out.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, we want to become a unifying node for process research within the specific area in which we operate (the EFP program framework). Our hope is that a deeper collaboration between the EFP program organizations will eventually lead to important results to be implemented. Therefore, it is valuable that the two large machinery suppliers, as well as four large pulp producers and one of the leading chemical suppliers to the pulp industry actively participate in the collaboration.

Approach and implementation

RISE acted as project manager, initiated & lead these activities: - Working meetings with the supervisors in the Swedish project that we have applied for from the Swedish Energy Agency. Focus on project planning, collaborations & organisation. - Several working meetings in the area of "Alternative chemical recovery" have been held (RISE & KTH). - All organizations participated in Research Forum & PI Summit in Finland. In addition, they have participated in 4 Research Discussions within the EFP.
