Important results from the project
The test bed will support pilot projects that can contribute to the development of elderly care towards more modern work approaches and stronger emphasis on individual needs. The test bed should be critical for securing implemented results out of the pilot initiatives. Another purpose of the test bed is to provide participating actors a forum for on-going and close-to-practice learning about development opportunities in comparison if every single actor would be doing this alone. The test bed will enhance a better interaction between everyday operations and R&D-facilities.
Expected long term effects
With the support of the test bed pilot projects should more easily be transformed into implemented results in a larger scale. The systemic approach involving service providers in closer cooperation with public administration and authority is constructive for these expected results. As an overall effect the test bed will make research and development projects more frequent within elderly care and enhance the knowledge culture. After finalizing the project the test bed approach should be become permanent involving regular cooperation between public, private and R&D organizations.
Approach and implementation
The test bed approach will be important to put attention to and make way for ideas that can develop a more up to date and individually adapted elderly care. This will be done by the legitimacy and participation from critical actors. Increased efficiency and sustainable results will be provided by a certified methodology of pilot projects and R&D support for evaluations. The test bed will also be instrumental as a knowledge center and forum. Public and private organizations, NGO:s and users of elderly care will have access to a much broader knowledge base compared to singular initiatives.
