Important results from the project

Novosense has developed and patented the next generation wireless ECG technology. In this project, ECGHomeCare, a study has been carried out to investigate an ECG product targeted for home health care. The vision of ECGHomeCare project is to develop a new product adapted for ECG monitoring at the home of patients. The product would be suitable for patient with heart diseases, patients with other severe health problems and also for home health care for elderly.

Expected long term effects

The study has resulted in reports, which are needed to develop the wireless ECG system adapted for home health care. Novosense has investigated the products potential regarding; market demands, costumers demands on functionality and economical margins. The study shows a high market potential for the product and a good strategic position for competition. Thus the study motivates further investment and development of the wireless ECG for home health care.

Approach and implementation

A detailed specification and a work plan have been developed for the wireless ECG system targeted for home health care. The project was executed with help from the dept. of ´Medicinsk Teknik´ at Lund University Hospital and ClinTrials Skåne AB. One part of the study was to interview personnel at the hospitals in Lund and Malmö. This has given valuable information on how to adapt the ECG system for home health care use.
