Important results from the project

The project targeted to take a innovative new robotdesign from concept to the market. The robotsystem delivers twice the productivity comparable to other available industrial robots today. Adding the long reach of the robot enables new and simplified layouts of solutions appreciated by the customers. Demonstrations of some of these materialhandling solution can be found on Youtube/Cognibotics .

Expected long term effects

The targeted and developed robot has a primarly focus on automated Pick&Place and Kitting application. It is expected to take a significant marketshare thanks to the exceptional doubled productivity with this new technology and market is proven and growing fast driven from e-commerce and increasingly lack of available labour . Technical developments within the project has developed and proven the possibility of controlling weaker/softer robot arms, that enables more cost effective designs assisted by advanced software.

Approach and implementation

The projects initial market and application study involving s strong diversity in competences within the consortium proved to be an excellent starting point for the technology adaption and development. Especially the different multicultural, technological and company sizes brought different views to the challenge, conclusions and project adaption. Looking back on the project the core developments turned out to be according to plan. Many times the technology peripherals to the consortium competences was more difficult to execute in a timely manner.
