Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to develop a concept that makes it easy to measure the drying out of concrete during the construction process, that it should be easy to understand which interventions produce the desired effects. The project has led to a product that is easy to assemble, provides measurement data on the moisture/temperature of the concrete in 3 levels, which gives a drying curve and a moisture profile in the concrete, which is desired by the industry because concrete recipes change in step with e.g. environmental requirements.

Expected long term effects

The sensors will be ready for launch in Q1 2023 and there is a broad interest in simplifying measurements, which are currently expensive, invasive, labor-intensive and imprecise. We are in dialogue with all national contractors and several concrete suppliers. We have several pilot projects underway with e.g. NCC.

Approach and implementation

The project idea started by basing the sensor technology on the InviSense passive solution, but as the dialogue with the market continued, we realized that we must have an active product to succeed. The project was re-directed and a partner dropped out. Once this decision was made, the project went very well, there were of course some hiccups, but no party killers. All partners have contributed their parts to the project, some more than others, and we believe we have reached the goal. Now we "just" have to succeed in putting this on the various markets.
