Important results from the project

The project has developed a digitally connected test environment that complements physical test tracks and enables faster development of connected, automated, and shared mobility services. Three use cases have been demonstrated: connectivity stress testing, road obstacle warning systems, and infrastructure-based collision avoidance. Technical results include network quality control and further development of the ATOS test platform. The project has actively disseminated its results.

Expected long term effects

Overall, the project has strengthened Sweden’s position as a leader in digitalized testing, enhanced expertise in the field, and laid the foundation for future national initiatives in digital infrastructure and sustainable mobility. The results have strong potential to contribute to: more efficient testing for industry, increased safety and trust in automated systems, improved international competitiveness through combined test environments, and support for policy development.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out between 2023 and 2025 by AstaZero, Telia, and VOI, building on insights from Drive Sweden Innovation Cloud. Early the goals were updated due to external circumstances that led one project partner to withdraw. After adjusting the goals, the project’s purpose was successfully achieved. Collaboration extended beyond the core team, involving Trafikverket, HUGO, and Ericsson. Each partners contribution were integrated and demonstrated in a series of use cases.
