Important results from the project
By creating links between our linked data service for the Nobel Prize and external data sources, we have made it possible to tie these together and can present relevant Nobel Prize-related information from multiple external data sources on nobelprize.org. We have created generic tools in the form of a linked data cache and a linked data browser to enable this.
Expected long term effects
The project´s results illustrate the added value that open linked data provide when data sets can be linked together in a high quality manner. The end result is that you now can make advanced and very interesting searches across multiple datasets, as well as making it easy to collect and publish information from multiple sources. The amount of information that is accessible for both internal use and for users, thereby multiplied.
Approach and implementation
Interesting linked data sources with unique and useful information was identified. Our service data.nobelprize.org was updated with links to these information sources. A linked data cache was developed for fast, reliable and easy access to external data sources. Webpages on nobelprize.org was developed with information gathered from multiple linked data sources. A linked data browser was developed for visitors to easily navigate through the dataset.
