Important results from the project
Within this project we have created the base for a new signal processing that also will enhance our existing system. Additional work is required and we aim at continuing this after the Vinnova project as we have promising results. We have achieved a new hygienic system design together with a leading customer in the segment. In addition a reject mechanism that can be opened easy to clean manually Very good response and contribution from the major player we work together with in this project. It opens up possibilities for the future and connections that can lead to new applications.
Expected long term effects
The goal with this research project, supported by Vinnova, was to create the required conditions to detect foreign bodies in semi-frozen chicken mix. We have not been able to reach the goal in full in this application due to what turned out to be too large and frequent disturbances in the environment we are to measure. However, in this we have learned important lessons that we will continue to work with. A dialog with representatives from the pharmaceutical industry has been initiated as well as discussion about a new application from a food company linked to our project partner.
Approach and implementation
We have followed our project plan. Established new contacts and co-operation partners. Experienced the strength of working with major players as partners that can guide us in the requirements necessary to match. We now match the environmental requirements necessary. Live testing has exceeded plan due to challenges discovered in test measuring. The customer has rebuilt part of the production system to create better conditions. This confirms the true interest. Without the support from Vinnova this project would be too large and challenging. The input ended up larger that forecasted.
