Deep Green Challenge

Important results from the project

The purpose and goal of the planning project was to concretise Skanska needs of technical green solutions which can contribute to deep green building projects, and based on these needs, write a competition plan for an open technology competition for potential suppliers. During the planning period, we have formed a working group which have jointly developed a detailed description of needs. We have also made a plan for implementation of the cleantech contest Deep Green Challenge, see the attached appendix.

Expected long term effects

The expected concrete results of the planning project was a competition plan, which has been met, see appendix with the competition plan for Deep Green Challenge. Other effects of the planning project is that new collaborations and networks within Skanska has been formed, with the a common goal that requires the involvement of these actors. A more indirect effect of the planning project is that the working group developed a great commitment to the deep green environmental objective, and the idea of the contest Deep Green Challenge, of the various actors.

Approach and implementation

Along with the Sustainable Business Hub and our colleagues at Skanska, we chose to plan by writing a competition plan for Deep Green Challenge. By concretizing, we hoped to raise issues that must be addressed and resolved. During the three meetings we had with Purchasing, Engineering, Marketing, Communication and SBHub we have thought about and substantiated the need, discussed competition strategy, timetable, organization etc. Our colleagues have really become involved in the project, and they have for example already booked up our CEO for attendance during the competition day.
