Important results from the project
DCAT-AP Toolkit allows for organizations to minimize their own development and to quickly get started with the publication of metadata according to DCAT-AP. This will lead to a lower threshold for inclusion of data sources in öppnadata.se and other open data portals. DCAT-AP Toolkit has been launched publicly as part of sandbox.oppnadata.se and will be managed and improved/developed as part of the EntryScape Sandbox. Its source code is available at https://bitbucket.org/metasolutions/entryscape-sandbox and licensed with AGPL 3.0.
Expected long term effects
Through its integration into sandbox.oppnadata.se the toolkit has great potential to help many organizations to manage DCAT-AP and thus increase the number of data sets described in öppnadata.se and other open data portals. DCAT-AP Toolkit helps to eliminate technical barriers to publish DCAT-AP. There are good reasons to believe that DCAT-AP Toolkit will be of great benefit also in the rest of Europe where DCAT-AP plays an increasingly important role.
Approach and implementation
The project has carried out continuous information efforts towards the target group, both nationally and internationally. Feedback and comments were collected and received from stakeholders. All source code has been made available under an open license and DCAT-AP Toolkit is deployed as a free-to-use tool as part of sandbox.oppnadata.se.
