Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to form a national advocacy platform, CelluTex - Cellulose-based textil, to promote new types of cellulose-based fibres to Horizon 2020. The aim was to create a common agenda reflecting Swedish interests to be brought to the European Commission. This will be done by a cross-sectoral consortia, having representatives from both the forest and the textile industry.
Expected long term effects
The members in the project have agreed on the needs for research activities, to bring to selected policy makers within the European commission. Especially important channels to those would be ETP for the Future of Textiles and Clothing and Forest-based Technology platform. A strategy for how to perform the influence work has been worked out. The impact of the future work within CelluTex would be more emphasis on Cellulose-based textiles within Horizon 2020, during its whole life time.
Approach and implementation
The work to agree on messages and to make a strategy for the influence work has been centered to three workshops, held during the project. The messages have been summarized in a brochure and the partners of the projects all stands behind this material. The brochure has been used already, at the ETP Textiles conference in Brussels in April this year, where officials from both this ETP and European commission were approached with the messages of CelluTex.
