Important results from the project
The majority of the goals we set at the beginning of this project were achieved or at least partially achieved. They have contributed substantially to the launch of RNA BaseCode in December of 2025. Importantly, for some of these goals we have seen synergies that have resulted in valuable insights beyond the scope or initial goal of the activity itself. For example, product development is significantly impacted by some of the customer feedback we received as part of this project.
Expected long term effects
As mentioned above, we expect significant impact on the direction of future product development as a direct result of feedback received in one of the proposed activities. The insights gained as part of this project will affect all future implementations of RNA BaseCode and will speed up user publications and increase uptake of the technology. More importantly, this new product development direction reduces barriers for users and makes it more broadly applicable.
Approach and implementation
The current project was split up into four separate goals focusing on; Commercial positioning of RNA BaseCod and preparation for RNA BaseCode launch (achieved), Eurostars grant application preparation (achieved), building of collaborations (achieved) and the further development of RNA BaseCode chemistry (partially achieved). The Eurostars application was written by Basic Genomics together with Civitta and our co-applicant. All other activities were performed by Basic Genomics team members.
