Important results from the project
The purpose of the trip was to establish contacts with several new colleagues and departments at Fraunhofer ISE and to discuss both practical arrangements, the proposed PhD project and possible collaborations between the SP and the ISE. The objectives of the trip were met at all points except that no german co-financing, other than in kind, could be obtained.
Expected long term effects
The result of the planning grant was that the journey to Freiburg could be realized and the anticipated impact is that the applicant is granted support to be able to spend three years at least half-time at ISE and thus may come a long way towards a PhD during the project duration
