Important results from the project
The purpose of A-TEAM phase 2b is to apply and evolve the process developed in A-TEAM phase 1 and 2a through research into: field data research, the test methods themselves and the test system. This research is conducted to allow the Sw edish automotive cluster to develope active safety functions ahead of the current state of the art, in turn allow ing the cluster to maintain its strong position in the area. All goals of the purpose were met.
Expected long term effects
The overall method for research into test methods and demonstrators is validated. The methods themselves are already used for development of new active safety functions thus ensuring effect on the vehicle safety goal. The mapping of research needs has generated several applications for new research projects. Knowledge created in the project also has effect on the standardization of test targets. Targeted efficiency gains were acheived but not only through thechnology, process and organizational actions were also used.
Approach and implementation
The project was split into seven WPs- project management, pre study, field data research, three method packages and one demonstrator package. The overall method in the project has worked well. The project has been led on two levels in parallel- the overall level and on detailed testing level. This has also worked well. Practical test method and demonstrator research is challenging which easily leads to delays. Focused management of the detailed planning has turned out to be a success factor.
