Important results from the project
In this project a collaboration between Mimerse AB and Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) was established. In collaboration they explored different possible ways of using VR in SCÄs practice. The project resulted in a prototype that is currently being refined in order to be presented to focus groups.
Expected long term effects
Mimerse and Stockholm Center for eating disorders (SCÄ) have increased their knowledge and profile in each others respective businesses. A prototype has collaboratively been produced and conditions for further developing the prototype have been created. The most promising application of VR for SCÄs practice was deemed to be working with body awareness in VR. The prototype that was developed was a VR experience featuring a virtual mirror and the users body as a simulated avatar in the VR world.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out as planed with some delays. In order to achieve the quality and usability-level required for relevant focus group feedback, some additional development is required. A big part of the development budget was spent on working with different algorithms to artificial motion the simulated VR body.
