Important results from the project
Yes. The project met its goal of developing, validating and protecting a traceability feature for Aventix´s Scarlett volume measurement platform. The feature was developed and integrated into the system, its performance was confirmed through independent validation by a national metrology institute, and the results were protected through a patent application. The project also strengthened Aventix´s life-science network and laid the groundwork for continued commercialisation.
Expected long term effects
The project makes traceable liquid volume measurement more accessible to research and regulated laboratories and can, over time, reduce reliance on external calibration services. Through earlier detection of measurement errors, it is expected to reduce failed experiments and lower the use of reagents and consumables, delivering both cost and sustainability gains. The project strengthens Sweden´s position in precision measurement and laboratory automation.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in four stages: mapping user needs, developing the traceability feature, independently validating performance, and securing intellectual property. It began with dialogue with life-science users, followed by technical development and integration into the Scarlett system. Performance was confirmed through independent validation, and the results were secured through a patent application. The project ran according to plan.
