Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Re:meat´s mission is to contribute to radically reducing greenhouse gas emissions by redefining how meat ends up on our plates. The project involves developing a business concept and strengthening relevance by developing, together with selected partners, a prototype of a cultivator (bioreactor) with new sterilization technology to drastically reduce costs to be able to adapt for future cost-effective meat production. The result shows a working sterilization method that can enable a new type of cultivator at 3.5x lower cost.

Expected long term effects

Re:meat’s vision is to enable all people to enjoy sustainable meat. Re:meat is planning to establish Scandinavia’s first production of cultivated meat. Affordable meat without slaughter, that tastes great with low emissions. To make an impact the production cost of cultivated meat needs to radically drop. A task that Re:meat has been investigating through this project mainly by designing food grade cultivators that cost a fraction of conventional pharma options. The effect of realizing the new equipment and production set up can revolutionize the industry and trigger a market intro.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project´s setup has been to test the effectiveness of a new sterilization method, the results of which have been used to develop a new bioreactor concept that can meet both the specifications required to grow meat but also meet the costs and margins that customers are expected to have to produce and sell meat. Together with partners in the value chain, Re:meat has facilitated workshops with suppliers and customers, generated ideas and challenged conventional alternatives and validated the concept at both price, technical and product level.
