Important results from the project
Yes. The goal was to develop an MVP and validate the business model with a pilot customer. At project close, Recohere has several paying industrial customers and a platform deployed on-premise at customer sites. The project also led to two Vinnova-funded FFI partnerships with the automotive industry, a registered trademark and a documented IP strategy. The team grew from three to five people.
Expected long term effects
Validating autonomous systems is a bottleneck that cannot be solved by more physical test drives. By automatically turning recorded sensor data into photorealistic, testable 3D environments, development teams can validate safety-critical AI faster, at lower cost, and against hazardous scenarios that cannot be recreated safely in the real world. This contributes to improved traffic safety, reduced physical testing and stronger competitiveness for the Swedish automotive and robotics industry.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out by Recohere in four work packages: market verification, MVP development, industrial pilot and IP strategy. The structure held, but market verification progressed faster than planned and was replaced early by live customer collaborations, which allowed MVP development to be driven by real integration requirements. The timeline was met. The main challenge was integration with customers´ existing toolchains, solved with a modular data pipeline.
