Status Completed
Venture The transformation of civil society
Call Civil society´s innovative solutions for a sustainable society

Important results from the project

The project has worked towards two fundamental objectives. Firstly, to develop a purposeful solution that strengthens individuals employability while simultaneolsy enriching the civil society organizations where the efforts are carried out. Secondly, to develop a job market program based on non-economic activity within civil society, with a volume of participants and a community anchoring that enable large-scale operations. We believe the the former has been achieved, while the latter reached about halfway compared to the project´s ambitions.

Expected long term effects

The project´s results indicate that the solution has functioned as a method to strengthen participants´ employability in the job market. The largest improvement has been observed within the areas "Knowledge of the job market," "Confidence in handling a job," "Ability to communicate with authorities," "Social network," and "Ability to communicate in Swedish." Out of the 22 participants engaged within the "subsidized employment" track, 16 are currently employed, 2 are in education, 2 are seeking employment, and 2 are abroad.

Approach and implementation

The project has recruited participants through two different tracks: subsidized employments and work internships. The subsidized employment has shown positive effects at both individual and societal levels. The work internships however, did not work appropriately within the project´s methodology, primarily because it did not allow for involving participants for a sufficient duration. The project´s conclusions have been reshaped into an application to the ESF Council, which, if approved, could enable for broader implementation.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
