Project duration July 2016 - June 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The objectives of the project have been met and an automated pilot production line for high-temperature FBGs has been delivered to Ermaksan (hardware, software and knowledge transfer). - A Noria (FBG manufacturing station) has been delivered to Ermaksan in Turkey. - Transfer of knowledge from NorthLab to Ermaksan on FBG design and production - A new advanced software for NORIA has been developed - Hydrogen charger and a recoater have been developed by NorthLab - FBGs for high temperatures have been developed and tested

Expected results and effects

The objectives of the project have been met and an automated pilot production line for high-temperature FBGs has been delivered to Ermaksan (hardware, software and knowledge transfer). Work is continuing with Ermaksan to refine their production line. The pilot production line developed for Ermaksan is now being commercialized to be delivered to other customers. New ideas and concepts have arisen as a result of the project. All of this will cause NorthLab to grow as well with staff as in sales and profitability.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has largely been implemented as planned, but circumstances beyond the control of the parties have led to certain delays. Geographic distances, languages and culture are always a challenge in these types of projects but have been well managed by the project organization. Some technical challenges have been underestimated, but very valuable lessons have been learned from this.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
