Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The original purpose of the project was to investigate how data can be aggregated and used to influence consumers to act more sustainably and to open and make clear information about the food chain. This was revised during the project to understand the complexity and sustainability problem and to define a system for evaluating the sustainability of food and food products. This aim and objective are met and we have a clear idea and solutions to move on to step 2.

Expected long term effects

The result of the project, in addition to a much deeper understanding of the area and its complexity, is a clear idea that, through collaboration with stakeholders in the food chain, develop a benchmarking model for sustainability (based on the definition of economics, social, human and environment) that uses different forms of analogies to abstract away the complexity and support consumers in their buying decisions. This should be a label that is affixed to products and with the help of green, yellow, and red indicates sustainability within the four categories above.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented through workshops and discussions. We conducted two workshops focusing on 1) understanding the challenge and the sub-challenges as well as identifying the problem, 2) defining the proposed system and its components and structure, and why stakeholders would be interested in the project. The 3rd workshop was held in the spirit of the makerspace where private individuals were allowed to participate and define the issues that were important to them. This arrangement worked well for the project in question and allowed us to evaluate and analyze freely.
