Important results from the project
During the project, we have developed both our business plan and technology through in-depth dialogues with membrane manufacturers with a focus on water purification. We are conducting joint development projects, where the project that is furthest along has reached scaleup with a focus on the implementation of our energy-efficient and selective membrane component made of natural materials into the partner´s existing filter membrane solution. We have taken big steps towards our objective to accommodate more people with access to cheap drinking water that is safe to drink.
Expected long term effects
Water purification membrane manufacturing methods have been developed through incorporation of our performance-enhancing additive and evaluated with partners, which has generated results of great importance also for our internal development of water purification membranes. No co-development project is yet generating revenue, but dialogues about future business are ongoing and agreements on future commercialization opportunities have been made.
Approach and implementation
The technical development of the water purification solution has so far taken place largely through joint distance-based development due to the pandemic. This has most likely inhibited the rate of iteration compared to being able to be physically present. At the same time, the possibility of initiating dialogues with potential partners has seemingly increased, which has resulted in many important insights on both business opportunities and technical aspects, regardless of whether the dialogue has developed into a defined co-development project or not.
