Purpose and goal
Decreasing the number of traffic related injuries and fatalities is highly prioritized by Swedish industry and academia. One main component is connected and automated vehicles. The project´s objective was to start development of a test platform to facilitate research, verification and validation for functions developed for the above. The platform´s capabilites are to on vehicle level orchestrate complex traffic and communication scenarios which are potentially dangerous. This project was executed as planned.
Expected results and effects
Chronos part 1 has expanded cooperation between Swedish automotive actors and new actors such as Ericsson. The project´s results are: - Dimensioning test scenarios for test of automated vehicles, - Initial compilation of future test scenarios including C-ITS (V2X communication). - First development step of a test platform for the transportation system of the future.
Planned approach and implementation
The project practiced agile methods with short sprints during development of the test platform. This combined with tight cooperation with WP5 och WP7 has lead to efficient development with high quality. Further, development was co-located on site at AstaZero which also contributed to the success of the project.
