Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to find a working method for autonomous weed control in orchards by: 1. Manufacturing a working tool prototype 2. Developing a technical specification for a working solution 3. Preparing documentation for a patent application

Expected long term effects

We have reached the set goals and have come to the conclusion that it is possible to automate weed control in orchards. Our technical solution involves either significant reduction in use of glyphosate or the possibility of using natural herbicides.

Approach and implementation

The work in the project has consisted of: 1. Collection of information to understand the farmers situation and the conditions in the cultivation itself. 2. Finding a technical solution to the problem in collaboration with farmers and other experts. 3 Specification of the technical solution and to manufacture a prototype. 4. To investigate the possibilities of protecting the technology through patents. We have succeeded well with the implementation, some delays have occurred due to personal situations and component shortages.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
