At the same time, the EU has launched its first collective Water Resilience Strategy to address increasing water shortages, pollution and extreme weather in Europe. But what does the global water crisis mean in practice for Sweden?
On Gotland, long-term work is underway to manage water shortages and develop new solutions for a more resilient society. What is happening on the island can become an important model for how regions in Sweden and Europe can meet future water challenges. In this conversation, politics, research and practice come together to discuss how local experiences can be linked to European policy and innovation. How can Sweden contribute to the EU's water transition? How can research and innovation become a competitive advantage in a world where water is becoming an increasingly strategic resource? And what can the rest of the country learn from Gotland's work already today? A conversation about a transition that is already underway, and about how local solutions can have global significance.
