Future innovations: When technology moves closer to humans

Explore the future where human potential meets the possibilities of technology. In this film, our foresight expert Joakim Skog takes us on a journey through some of the most exciting innovations in human health and abilities. See how thought-controlled prosthetics make it possible to control robotic arms with brain signals, how exoskeletons can let us walk further and lift heavier, and how smart contact lenses can give us information directly in our field of vision without picking up our mobile phone. We also get a glimpse of bioprinting – the technology that can let us print skin, cartilage and even heart tissue directly from the patient's own cells. Sweden's researchers and companies are on the front line and show how human innovation can make a difference – with safety, ethics and accessibility in focus. Vinnova has directly or indirectly funded the project mentioned in the film. The film was produced in connection with the Polhem Prize 2025, in collaboration with Sveriges Ingenjörer, who is behind the prize.
