Important results from the project

The goal was to develop an actor-driven roadmap for advanced materials. In the process, we managed to mobilize important actors to participate in information meetings, in the five roundtable discussions, and to provide input on proposed text via survey and an open consultation. The result: a strategic compass for advanced materials, was launched in March at a lunch seminar at Vinnova and at a seminar in Lund in April.

Expected long term effects

The long-term goal of the project is to demonstrate opportunities and needs in the field of advanced materials and thereby create the conditions for an actor-driven national programme for advanced materials, a Swedish match to the European IAM4EU/IAM-I partnership. The strategic compass for advanced materials summarizes the opportunities and needs in the field. The broad involvement of the actors in the work of developing the compass gives credibility and strength to the proposal.

Approach and implementation

IAM4Sweden, a collaboration between Bioinnovation, IMA, Innovair, LIGHTer, Metalliska Material, Net Zero Industry, Produktion2030, SIO Grafen, Smartare Elektroniksystem, Swedish Metals & Minerals and Swedish Chips Competence Centre, stod behind the project. An operational group prepared and compiled the compass. Material was collected at five open roundtable discussions and a survey. A proposal was put out for open consultation. Launched at a lunch seminar at Vinnova and at a seminar in Lund.
