Important results from the project

The project met its goals and created a clear foundation for the next phase. We established and deepened international collaborations, developed a secure, AI-ready EnergyNet architecture, and identified priority pilot and development tracks. The project also showed that the solution has potential beyond energy, in critical infrastructure such as water, transport and communications, while creating valuable networks with universities, regional actors and international initiatives.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, the project is expected to support safer, more resilient and interoperable energy systems, where smart microgrids, storage, EVs and traditional grids can be better coordinated. The results can strengthen Sweden’s role in AI-ready, cyber-secure digital infrastructure, enable new pilots and standardisation tracks, and open applications in other critical infrastructure such as water, transport and communications. The Energy Valley cluster will focus future US-SE cooperation.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out in three steps: preparation and partner mapping, meetings and workshops in the US, and consolidation of the architecture, security profile and Step 2 plan. The setup proved effective and the timeline was largely followed. Cooperation worked well and created stronger-than-expected network effects through new contacts with universities, regional actors and EnergyNet initiatives. An unexpected breakthrough was the invitation to present five times during SF Climate Week.
