Important results from the project
Handiscover and Malmö Stad developed and tested an App, called Log This Place, where people with functional variation can enter information about the availability of seats, for example if there are stairs, railings, ramps for wheelchairs etc. All development has taken place together with focus groups with people with functional variation. Log This Place is now available at Appstore Sverige for download and contains information on 700 unique public places.
Expected long term effects
The purpose of the project was to strengthen and develop public information about accessibility in the urban space for people with functional variation. The goal is to develop and test an application that makes it possible for people with functional variation to review and verify existing accessibility information in the city of Malmö. We have done this in the project by developing a mobile app, called Log This Place, where people with functional variation can enter information about the availability of different public places. The app is available on Appstores in Sweden.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in 4 activities. 1) Planning and decision of criteria and delimitations as well as selection of test areas 2) Development of upload function for user-generated information. 3) Development of display function and quality assurance 4) Test and demonstration of charging and display in selected pilot areas in Malmö in Beta version. Activities resulted in expected results for the project.
