Important results from the project

Our overall objective with this project was to investigate whether digital technology and innovative products for the funeral industry can improve and renew the market. The project has successfully fulfilled the activities that were set up and thus both the prototype and a digital drawing program have been developed and undergone testing.

Expected long term effects

We have identified potential business models with significantly better data as a starting point than we had before the verification. The verification gave us new valuable knowledge which meant that the business model had to be adjusted slightly to meet the actors involved in a better way. The effect of the new knowledge and the network of valuable contacts will be crucial in bringing a user-friendly service and an innovative product to the market. We intend to create value for both the industry and the end consumer.

Approach and implementation

In addition to an extension of the project´s deadline, the layout and implementation have gone according to plan. Now that the product and business model have been verified, we are ready to take the next step. From December 2021, tombstones and the digital drawing tool will be introduced and integrated on the Swedish market. We will continue to be responsive in identifying future requests from customers and key players in the industry. Our ambition is to update systems and tombstone models further, as we learn more about the market and its players.
