Important results from the project
The purpose of the Trafikverket´s projectparticipation was to explore the possibilities of the co-working environment for new ways of working and to investigate how cooperation can be promoted. The goal is to be able to further develop work environments with support of the experiences in the project. Trafikverket has learned about cooperation between authorities and about co-working environments and has also tested knowledge development at Samverket together with other public organizations. Trafikverket has experienced the project as useful and instructive.
Expected long term effects
Trafikverket states that there is a need and benefit for a way of working where a "neutral workplace area" can be used as a combined meeting and workplace for project-oriented co-working, the workplace environment of the future, "where small threads can arise and create larger networks and give benefit”. For Trafikverket, the project has also resulted in several development ideas regarding logistically placed supplementary meeting hubs, places and opportunities for supplementary "third workplaces" and various forms of shared areas and "arenas for authority cooperation".
Approach and implementation
The project came to be about exploring common issues - less about the work environment. Trafikverket´s collaborators already felt they had access to arenas for specific agency collaboration. Despite the cross-border tasks of the collaborators, difficulties were found in allocating time for the combination of daily work and collaboration at Samverket. From this it is judged that a more project-directed test of collaboration around various issues would have promoted the project more than the carried out individual-based test which was based on the collaborators´ own commitment.
