Purpose and goal
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The system demonstrator´s objective is to demonstrate and initiate a large-scale system change within Swedish healthcare with a focus on the collection and availability of molecular omics data on a national level. This system change is necessary for the introduction of precision medicine in Swedish healthcare. The introduction is not only to the benefit of the individual patient, who receives better care through more individually tailored treatments, but also to drive Swedish and international research and innovation in the field.
Expected effects and result
The project will begin the critical system transformation within the regions, which in turn paves the way for a broad implementation of precision medicine in Swedish healthcare, with the result that patients can be offered more reliable diagnostics, more equal care and more individually tailored treatment methods. Together with key players, the system demonstrator will also create a unique, national resource for the utilization of health data not only for continued development of precision diagnostics and treatment, but also for future research and international collaboration.
Planned approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project will commission and further develop the Nationella Genomikplattformen (NGP) in collaboration with Sweden´s seven university hospital regions and universities with medical faculties. NGP will serve as a national hub for omics health data and a platform on which applications that support precision diagnostics can be developed. The platform will also function as a central point for structured data collection from healthcare and a place for integrations with other national and international projects, agencies, industry and research.
