Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to show that our antimicrobial coating can be used on different substrates, in an inexpensive way, that it is possible to add adhesive/mechanical properties, and demonstrate the flexibility of our nanocomposite in complex environments. The project has gone well, with several tests with external actors that validated the antimicrobial effect. In addition, we have received indications of an effect in water as well. What has not been fully fulfilled is a review with industry partners regarding all compensation models. This is being completed now.
Expected long term effects
1) Validated coating on new substrates.. - This has been achieved when several tests by external experts have shown a clear effect on different substrates. Some difficulties in integrating the coating have been identified, leading to minor corrections in the application process. 2) On chemical/temperature sensitive substrates - This has been achieved and has been validated by external experts at the universities of Wroclaw and Umeå. 3) Accepted replacement model with industrial partners - This has been partially achieved as not all possible arrangements have been analysed.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project included 4 work packages where the layout meant that materials based on different substrates were processed and integrated with our antimicrobial coating. In the next step, the effects would then be tested with external experts. I AP3´s goal was to investigate the conditions for 3D printing the material, and AP4 included a business analysis where, among other things, compensation models were analyzed with the industry.
