Important results from the project
The project aimed to strengthen doctoral students’ knowledge of production and production development from a European perspective. The course was extended by one week in Switzerland. In total, 16 doctoral students from five Swedish universities participated. The objectives were achieved through increased understanding and deeper knowledge in sustainability, materials, and production technology. The project also contributed to long-term networks between the participating institutions.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to generate long-term effects in the form of strengthened international collaboration and sustainable networks between doctoral students and universities in Sweden and Europe. Through increased understanding of European perspectives on production, sustainability, and materials engineering, the project contributes to raising the competence level within Swedish research and industry.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out as a course linked to the P2030 Research School, organized by Chalmers University of Technology and aimed at doctoral students, with a focus on product and production development. The format combined lectures, workshops, and study visits to leading universities and companies in Europe, including visits to Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland.
