Important results from the project
The aim of the project has been to - engage Swedish graphene companies (manufacturers and users of graphene/graphene-related 2 D materials) to use standards in their own quality work - enhance the Swedish participation in the work of developing standards - create a long-term sustainable working model for to influence international standards. Thanks to the project, the commitment to standardization has increased greatly, both nationally and internationally. During the project, Sweden has been able to participate in ISO meetings in 2022 and 2023.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in: - a "wish list" from Swedish companies regarding the need for specific standards - a compilation of current and upcoming standard proposals within ISO and IEC regarding graphene and other 2D materials. - a working model with the purpose of influencing international standardization - a Swedish involvement in the standardization work - participation in experimental work for standardization - clear results of the influence work on international standardization for graphene and 2D materials The results will be summarized and available on siografen.se.
Approach and implementation
The following steps have been included in the project: - Interviews with graphene companies to investigate the need for standards. -Participation via RISE in experimental studies, where test methods that are proposed to become standards were tested. - International impact The overall goals have been achieved through very active work vis SIS/TK 516 Nanotechnology. The committee´s graphene group has commented and voted on all standardization proposals during the project period with active participation in new standardization proposals and revised standards.
