SPACE2 - Growing Sweden’s space ecosystem

Purpose and goal

We continue on the set path with events and activities to help space tech companies find customers and partners and established companies find solutions based on space data and -tech. We will involve Nordic actors and are planning an "Nordiskt Space Summit” 2025 - a joint project that positions the Nordics as a regional example in Space in Europe, with Nordic financiers, projects and programs. The goal is that for Sweden: - Increase use of space data - Strengthen Nordic Space cooperation - Increased cooperation between established and younger companies, as well as sharing results

Expected effects and result

In SPACE2 2023, we added Space to the industries we work with internationally (Deeptech within Industry, Infrastructure, Utilities & Mobility), which allowed us to quickly establish a platform that we can now build on. We expect more participants in our activities, more established companies that start working with space data and technology, and to demonstrate how Nordic space cooperation can use the countries´ strengths and create greater joint impact. Together we should be able to attract more of Europe´s resources, several large and small actors and establish Nordic Space Summit.

Planned approach and implementation

We will continue to run both physical and digital Get-On-Top/eXplore events partly as training and partly to gather more companies to THINGS and thereby create more business opportunities. We communicate extensively about our activities. We have worked closely with our SPACE2 supporters including Kista Science City, ESA BIC/ABI, STING, WSI and Rymdkapital and intend to broaden that group to include more activities, including Nordic ones. Together with Kista Science City, we will plan Nordic Space Summit to spring 2025. It gives us a clear effort to try to gather Nordic actors around.
