Reference number
Coordinator The Innovation Growhouse Stockholm AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 750 000
Project duration June 2024 - May 2025
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project turned out as expected and goals met. The main result is an established Nordic space collaboration, including 3 work groups and Nordic Space Summit 2025, with 74 participants from 7 countries, and all types of stakeholders represented such as industry analysts, media, investors, corporates, research, EUSPA, ESA-BIC and CASSINI. The overlap between Space and Defence became clear, and we are broadening the event to Nordic Space & Defense Summit 2026, and including the Baltic countries.

Expected long term effects

Nordic collaboration, and a constructive collaboration between the established space industry and rapidly growing "new space" can enable Sweden to quickly become a leader in space - again. Focusing on the overlap of space and defense creates additional unique advantages in both these important industries, and uniquely positions Sweden and "New Nordics", with many of our best industrial and academic actors as a base. Nordic Space & Defence Summit will be a unique Nordic meeting place!

Approach and implementation

We continued building our ecosystem around space tech by recruiting tech companies and inviting established companies operating in other industries and space. At the same time, we kick-started the work of identifying and recruiting organizations in all Nordic countries relevant for Nordic collaboration. ~200 people were involved in creating working groups, recruiting speakers, etc., and invited to Nordic Space Summit together with 10 selected Nordic space companies and industry professionals.
