Important results from the project
The project achieved its aim and objective by identifying measures to support a shift towards a climate-neutral and circular society in construction. 15 activities were identified for implementation by 2030 to stay within the carbon dioxide budget and reach the municipality´s 1.5-degree goal. Furthermore, workshop participants, including the project group and other Sollentuna municipality employees, gained enhanced foresight competence through the introduction of new tools and methods.
Expected long term effects
The outcome of this project has become a valuable asset for the Municipality of Sollentuna in our pursuit of climate neutrality. By being introduced to and trained in foresight methods, we have expanded our toolbox to address the challenges and opportunities facing Sollentuna. These methods have already been utilized in other projects within the municipality. The project has also fostered a culture of innovation and raised awareness of sustainability by placing significant emphasis on discussing topics from diverse perspectives with various individuals and areas of expertise.
Approach and implementation
The project followed a four-step process spanning from November to April: 1. Knowledge building and project management 2. Trend analysis and scenario studies 3. Goal-setting and roadmap planning 4. Documentation and sharing of results This was primarily achieved through a series of six workshops involving various participants from the municipality. In parallel with the workshops, interviews were conducted with most participants and researchers from RISE to analyze future developments, challenges, and opportunities from both external and internal perspectives.
