Important results from the project

Beyond the integration with the DTCC platform, a development environment was created to enable applications for digital twin cities, focusing on open source, system integration, and processes. Collaboration with architectural firms, municipalities, companies, and research institutions developing and testing several applications provided insights into the need for tailored solutions and a flexible environment capable of continuous adaptation and keeping pace with rapid technological advancements.

Expected long term effects

The development of software is rapidly moving towards new requirements and new approaches for development. By focusing on solutions aimed at dynamically creating tailored digital twin applications based on user needs, we have taken a step into the future. Emphasizing interoperability and collaboration tools strengthens future development, where AI-driven coding can deliver stable, customized solutions. This will have significant and decisive impacts even in the short term.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out with parallel sub-projects where development was tested and evaluated. The platform was gradually developed to focus on database management, API, and real-time support, instead of detailed visualization. The timeline was largely followed, but data limitations affected the possibilities for dissemination and testing. Collaboration worked well and shifted from a broad focus to developing a flexible platform for digital twin applications alongside the DTCC platform.
