Important results from the project
In the research and innovation agenda SILS (Sweden as an international center for life science), five areas were identified as crucial for the Swedish Life Science sector; a national delegation; how good practice can be disseminated or coordinated nationally; making R&D infrastructure more available; new financing for SME; and coordination and standardization of clinical trials. The project has initiated measures within those areas.
Expected long term effects
The research and innovation agenda launched in 2013 made important stakeholders in the Linköping-Norrköping Region , The Skåne Region, The Stockholm-Mälardalen Region, The Umeå Region and the Västra Götaland Region come together and find common solutions to challenges in the life science sector. The Group has via SILS 2.0 deepened their cooperation and also taken initiatives in order to make regions and the nation even stronger in th area. The cooperation will continue in 2014.
Approach and implementation
Several meetings have been held in the project group and also in the steering committee. Five working group have been responsible for different areas of interest. The outcomes have been discussed with other research and innovation agenda initiatives and also with representatives for the business sector.
